Subject Leader: Mrs E Hopkin

Holding a BA Hons degree in Primary Education with a specialism in English, I possess a deep-rooted love for children’s literature and a commitment to providing Applegarth pupils with a comprehensive and relevant English curriculum.

With an unwavering belief in the power of literacy, I strive to ensure that every pupil has equal access to a rich and diverse range of literary resources. By fostering a love of a reading, I am determined to instill a lifelong appreciation for literature and its transformative impact on young minds.

As an experienced NYCC (North Yorkshire County Council) moderator and former lead moderator during the academic year 2021/2022, I have a comprehensive understanding of assessment and quality assurance processes. This expertise enables me to uphold high standards of academic achievement and provide valuable guidance to our fantastic team.
